"The Tinder Swindler" Dating-App Villain Hits Netflix

In an online world infested with ‘catfish,’ Netflix has a new documentary that promises to pull the cover back on conman Shimon Hayut. “The Tinder Swindler” is the latest effort from Felicity Morris (the force behind “Don’t F**k With Cats”) and tells the tale of a man accused of catfishing women all over the world for profit.

Now living freely in Israel, Hayut went on the run after being sentenced to 15-months prison time for crimes including theft, forgery, and fraud. He was ultimately captured and spent just five-months behind bars. Victims were outraged – and Morris gets it.

“I think that it is incredibly hard for the women,” Morris tells “Vanity Fair.” “Here’s a guy who’s really wronged them, and yet it appears from his Instagram now that he’s basically just living the same life as he did before.” “The Tinder Swindler” is streaming on Netflix now.
