Kate Cassidy is sharing how she got out of her deep depression following the tragic death of her boyfriend Liam Payne.
While attending a special performance of This is Crazy! to benefit The National Alliance on Mental Illness, Cassidy spoke to Page Six about overcoming her struggles as a result of her heartbreak of her boyfriend's death. The One Direction alum passed away October 16, 2024, at 31 years old after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
"I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain," she said, adding that she was "just not wanting to really live my life" after her boyfriend's unexpected death.
After "about two months" of being mired in the grief of her monumental loss, the 26-year-old influencer realized she needed to make a change and "work [her] way through this" and learn to "accept" his passing.
"I finally realized, 'OK, like I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed,'" she said, adding that she started setting her alarm earlier every day and "working out [and] eating clean."
Now, nearly one year since his death, Cassidy tries to "stay as busy as I can," from early-morning workouts and being active to her clean diet, because it "really helps [her] headspace."
Earlier this year, Cassidy appeared as a guest on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast where she opened up about the impact of losing her partner. She also detailed the "beautiful last moment" she shared with the "Strip that Down" singer in person before his death.
