Since posting her "nightmare" interview with Blake Lively a few months ago, reporter Kjersti Flaa has brought to light a series of uncomfortable chats with other stars, including a "cringe" moment with Anne Hathaway from 2012.
In the footage, shared to the reporter's TikTok page on Tuesday (October 8), Flaa ask the Devil Wears Prada standout if she will answer a question in song, to which Hathaway replies: "Well I won't be doing that but you're more than welcome to sing."
As the interview continues, the reporter inquires about Hathaway's first crush, and instead of elaborating on the question, the actress, fresh off the heels of filming Les Misérables, says "no."
Hathaway sent Flaa a "long email" to apologize for how poorly she handled the interview when the clip resurfaced, referring to the scene as "awful." The reporter responded to the apology on her YouTube channel, highlighting the power of a simple "sorry."
"I have to say, I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never going to even see that video, but she did and she did something pretty amazing."
She continued:
"[The apology] was so touching to me. Just talking about it makes me almost teary eyed. I was just so grateful that she did that. It was a very personal note and we decided that I wouldn’t share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you guys what she did because I thought that was just so amazing."
Hathaway even offered to do another interview with Flaa for a film that is coming out in May.
As for the viral Blake Lively interview, Flaa revealed that the Gossip Girl alum has yet to offer her an apology for "horrific" comments she made (per Page Six) amid derailing the conversation.
