Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio Helping To Save A Young Mother's Life

Everyone's favorite film star-crossed lovers are teaming up to save a young mother who faced an impossible decision. Kate Winslet shared the story of Gemma Nuttall on This Morning recently, whom had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in her early 20s while pregnant. Gemma choose to not undergo treatment that could've saved her life because it would have forced her to terminate the pregnancy. After she gave birth, she underwent months of chemotherapy but the cancer returned in the form of brain cancer. Gemma was then told she had 6-months to live...

Winslet, who had lost her own mother to ovarian cancer, discovered Gemma's story through an online petition and decided to reach out. Winslet wound up raising about $200,000, but Gemma's treatments ran about $98,000 apiece and she would need several of them. That's when Winslet decided to get her famous BFF and Titanic costar, Leonardo DiCaprio, involved. Together they set up an auction for ‘A Dinner With Jack & Rose’ and sold 3 dinners which raised about $1.35-million! The money was split between Gemma and Leo's conservation charities. Gemma's daughter is now 3-years-old, but her mother isn't out of the woods yet and will need further treatment or she'll die. Winslet has vowed to continue to help the family in their fight, and she’ll have Leo in her corner too. Jack and Rose FTW!
