Teen Survives Fall From Amusement Park Ride

A day of fun in upstate New York became something completely different for a Delaware teen, who is surely feeling lucky after she dropped 25-feet from a ride at a Six Flags Great Escape on Saturday. That’s about two-storeys.

Video shows the unidentified 14-year-old dangling, then dropping from a gondola-style ride at The Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom in Queensbury. She fell into the waiting hands of the crowd below, striking a tree limb on the way down.

Fortunately, she suffered only minor injuries and was last listed in stable condition at the Albany Medical Center. It's not yet clear why the girl was hanging from the ride, but park officials and the State’s Department of Labor has cleared the ride for operation. Still, Six Flags says the ride will remain closed until an internal review is completed.
