A Simple Trick To Get Your Kids To Wear A Bike Helmet

We’re wrapping up Bike Safety month with a reminder about helmets.

Doctor Michael Macknin with Cleveland Clinic Children's says to let kids pick their helmet because many of them will only wear one they like. But don’t compromise on safety over looks. It's important to get one that is as round as possible and fits properly. Another good idea to consider is finding a light colored helmet that will be visible in any type of weather. Doctor Macknin says to stay away from helmets with sharp edges and decor that sticks out. Why are helmets so important? Each year in the United States, about 800 bicyclists are killed and another 500,000 end up in hospital emergency rooms.
