Bride Has Groom Edited Into Photos After He Died In Motorcycle Accident

On November 11, Debbie Gerlach was supposed to get married but tragically, her fiance, Randy Zimmerman, died in a motorcycle accident in February. However, even though her groom-to-be passed away nine months earlier, it didn't stop Debbie from having a photo shoot commemorating what would have been their big day, and thanks to Photoshop, Randy was a part of it all.

Gerlach hired photographer Kristie Fonseca, an expert at inserting late loved ones into pictures. Debbie donned her wedding dress and went out with Kristie for a photo shoot in the Tucson, Arizona desert. There, Debbie posed for photos, including some while holding the urn with Randy's ashes in it. Fonseca then edited a transparent Randy into the images. In some photos he is kissing Debbie, in others he is sitting on a motorcycle behind her and in one they are arm in arm.

Fonseca described her process to Yahoo Lifestyle saying, "I started the session as I normally would for a bridal shoot, and then I posed her for some as if he was there. She naturally posed for the photos as if he was standing right beside her. Her smile had a warmth as if he was talking to her. Even though he wasn’t there, she moved as if he was."

Debbie was thrilled with the result and shared the photos on what would have been her wedding day. They've since gone viral. Kristie is honored to have a role in it all saying, “I am humbled and honored to have been part of it and to be able to give her something so special that she can look at and hold on to forever.”

As for Debbie, she is using the photos' popularity to send an important message. In the Facebook post where she posted them, she wrote, "Please I beg each and every one of you that reads this post, WATCH FOR MOTORCYCLES, stop at stop signs and drive with care because you never know whose whole world is on that bike. Maybe if that person stopped, I'd be marrying my Randy, my best friend, the love of my life."
