A Trump appointee has resigned over a CNN KFile report that revealed disturbing comments he made. The Corporation for National and Community Service, which overseas services like AmeriCorps, announced Carl Higbie's resignation Thursday. The CNN report says Higbie made several racist, sexist, anti-Muslim and anti-LGBT comments while on a radio show. The comments were made from as far back as 2013. While talking about race, Higbie is quoted as saying "black women think breeding is a form of government employment." As far as Muslims go, he once said he just doesn't like them. He's also attacked veterans saying, "severe PTSD, where guys are bugging out and doing violent acts, is a trait of a weak mind." Higbie is a former Navy SEAL and conservative media personality.
He was a surrogate for Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
