This is the weekend many parents are watching their kids pack their things and take that big step off to college. It's obviously tough, and a bit scary, to let your child go.
This week, I have been praying for kids to make the right decisions at school.  And, I've also been praying and thinking about the parents, as they say goodbye. (To this day, my mom tells me that she cried all the way from Chicago to West Michigan after she dropped me off at college).
I came across this thought, and prayer, from author Max Lucado from, "Grace for the Moment", and I knew I needed to share it with you .
Praying for our children is a noble task. If what we are doing, in this fast-paced society, is taking us away from prayer time for our children, we're doing too much. There is nothing more special, more precious than time that a parent spends struggling and pondering with God on behalf of a child.
Never underestimate the power that comes when a parent pleads with God on behalf of a child. Who knows how many prayers are being answered right now because of the faithful ponderings of a parent ten or twenty years ago? God listens to thoughtful parents. "All your children will be taught by the Lord, and they will have much peace." Isaiah 54:13
