Brook's Valentine's Day Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies This is the recipe that inspired the "Cookin' With Brook" section. Overwhelming requests from listeners for the holiday recipe launched our recipe section.
1 box Cherry Chip Cake Mix 1/3 cup butter (softened) 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1/8 cup milk 2 cups chocolate chips (I add some red food coloring!)
Dark Chocolate Kisses (optional)
Preheat oven to 350. Mix half the dry cake mix with butter, vanilla, eggs, and milk. Stir in remaining cake mix and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes or until firm on the edges and soft in the middle. Cool 2 minutes before removing from sheet.
While still warm, place a dark chocolate kiss in the center and press down. Kiss will melt a little, then re-harden after awhile.

Husband for 21 years, and father of 4 amazing kids! I have been a morning show host in West Michigan since 1995, and Morning Show host at Star 105.7 since 2007. Besides hosting a top-rated morning show in West Michigan, I also am a coach at my kids' school. I coach Cross Country, Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Football, and even Bowling. My morning begins at 2:40 and ends about 9:30pm. (Homework, cleaning, and Dad-time add up.) Yes, it's a hectic schedule, but it keeps me in touch with my kids, my kids' friends, and their parents. I stay very active as a runner and by working out. I'm am also not afraid to say that I love to cook, shop, and encourage people to give their best, and help them believe in themselves.Hey there...I'm Brook Taylor, mother of two AMAZING children. Living happily in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my dream job. I love waking up early and then waking everyone else in West Michigan up with info, laughter and encouragement. One of the things people ask me a lot is first of all, "what time do you have to wake up?" and then "do you truly like the stuff you say you like on the radio". First answer, "2:30". Second answer, "if I didn't, I wouldn't say I liked it." People that listen to us are not just listeners. We have a relationship. They trust us. They believe we have their best interest in mind.
